Here we go! First semester news!

Are you ready to start your Upward Bound adventure for the new school year?! Last week we mailed info about first semester UB to all students. If you haven't received your mailing yet, please contact Cathy or call the UB office - 785-8539.Our first event of the new school year is the annual Welcome/Welcome Back picnic on Saturday, September 13. We'll start out at 8:45 a.m. at the UW-L Ropes and Challenge course (far north end of East Avenue). Please wear tennis shoes and no short shorts!
Then, we'll walk to Myrick Park for a POTLUCK picnic. UB will supply hotdogs, hamburgers, beverages, plates and utensils. Please bring a dessert, salad, bag of chips or fruit to share if you can. We'll be done at 2:30 p.m. Rides for Sparta, Tomah and BRF students will leave the Sparta Country Kitchen, 741 Avon Rd., at 8 a.m. and return at about 3:15 p.m.
STIPENDS - students who have not received their stipends for second semester (2007-2008) and/or summer will have one last chance to get them at this event! If you do not claim your stipend at the September 13 picnic, you will forfeit it!
