Upward Bound

MOVE IN for most students is 6:00 pm on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11th. We'll be living in Trowbridge Hall, as we have for the past 5 years.

COMPUTERS, TELEVISIONS, GAME SYSTEMS, & HAND-HELD GAMES ARE FORBIDDEN. Please don't bring them to campus.

Get ready - the weather WILL cooperate!

UB's annual family potluck picnic will be Saturday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shelter #2, Veteran's Memorial Park (West Salem).

As usual, EVERYONE'S INVITED! We'll have games and activities, honors and award for graduating seniors and continuing students, summer info and lots of fun!

UB will provide sloppy joes, buns, drinks, utensils, plates and cups (UB students - bring your UB water bottle!) Your family can bring something to share - from a bag of chips or apples to the cherished heirloom recipe for stuffed chicken wings or potato salad.

No need to RSVP this time (but we hope you WILL come!) See you there!

UW-L has its spring break next week (3/17-21) and La Crosse high schools are off during the week of March 24. So, please note this revised La Crosse (UW-L) tutoring schedule for the next two weeks:

Thursday, March 20 - NO TUTORING
Tuesday, March 25 - NO TUTORING
Thursday, March 27 - NO TUTORING*

*Book club will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. (last one!)

You can earn a BONUS STIPEND by having ALL your summer paperwork completed, signed and turned in by Monday, March 10 at 4:30 p.m. This is the ABSOLUTE DEADLINE for when the papers must be IN the UB office. If you're mailing forms, get them in the mail ASAP!

If you've misplaced the papers you were given or mailed on February 23, you can get replacements at www.uwlax.edu/upbound/forms.htm

Do not ask Jess, Paul or Antoiwana for replacements!

The bonus stipend will be paid half during the week of March 17 and half on summer UB move in evening, Wednesday, June 11.

Because of continuing snow and messy travel conditions and the presidential visit to campus this evening, we are CANCELLING La Crosse tutoring for tonight, Thursday, February 14.
