UW-La Crosse started hosting an Upward Bound program in 1979. Since then we've helped hundreds of area high school students focus on success in high school and in college. A TRIO program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, UB's mission is to provide academic and motivation-
al support so area students, who might be the first in their family to attend college and/or who come from low-income homes, can be accepted at and graduate from college.
"And so tonight, I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. This can be community college or a four-year school; vocational training or an apprenticeship.
